Global Warming Effects
summer is started and hot environment erected everywhere. this article is about the global warming and I try to explain how every day the effect of global warming on our daily routine.
Global warming is a big environmental and social issue all over the world which everyone must know especially our kids and children as they are the future.
Let your kids and school going children learn about this environmental issue, its causes and prevention methods using these essay on Global warming, written in English language using very simple words for students use.
Greenhouse effect, a global warming of Earth’s surface and troposphere (the lowest layer of the atmosphere) caused by the presence of water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and certain other gases in the air. Of those gases, known as greenhouse gases, water vapor has the largest effect.
The origins of the term greenhouse effect are unclear. French mathematician Joseph Fourier is sometimes given credit as the first person to coin the term greenhouse effect based on his conclusion in 1824 that Earth’s atmosphere functioned similarly to a “hot box”—that is, a heliothermometer (an insulated wooden box whose lid was made of transparent glass) developed by Swiss physicist Horace Bénédict de Saussure, which prevented cool air from mixing with warm air.
Fourier, however, neither used the term greenhouse effect nor credited atmospheric gases with keeping Earth warm.
Swedish physicist and physical chemist Svante Arrhenius is credited with the origins of the term in 1896, with the publication of the first plausible climate model that explained how gases in Earth’s atmosphere trap heat.
Arrhenius first refers to this “hot-house theory” of the atmosphere—which would be known later as the greenhouse effect—in his work Worlds in the Making (1903).
The atmosphere allows most of the visible light from the Sun to pass through and reach Earth’s surface.
As Earth’s surface is heated by sunlight, it radiates part of this energy back toward space as infrared radiation.
The heated atmosphere, in turn, radiates infrared radiation back toward Earth’s surface. Despite its name, the greenhouse effect is different from the warming in a greenhouse.
This global warming could alter Earth’s climates and thereby produce new patterns and extremes of drought and rainfall and possibly disrupt food production in certain regions.
Global warming is a major concern nowadays because of the regular increasing temperature of the whole atmosphere. It is continuously becoming so powerful as a demon.
There are many reasons for its ever-increasing nature. The major cause of it is greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane, chlorofluorocarbons.
which are increasing in the environment mainly by the human activities.
Some are an increasing number of automobiles, mushrooming industries, fossil fuels combustion, etc. Such activities emit more CO2 in the atmosphere which enhances the global warmth of Earth.
This increasing atmospheric temperature causes glaciers to melt, health disorders to occur and invite so many natural disasters.
The Effect of Global Warming
The greenhouse gases will stay in the atmosphere for many years since hundreds of years ago. However, the effect that global warming will cause on earth is extremely serious. There are many effects that will happen in the future if global warming continues.
That includes polar ice caps melting, economic consequences, warmer waters and more hurricanes, the spread of diseases and earthquake
The first effect is polar ice caps melting. As the temperature increase, the ice at the North Pole will melt. Once the ice melt the first effect will be raise on sea levels because the melting glaciers become oceans.
It affects many low lying areas such as the Netherlands. In future, the Netherlands will be cover by water once the North Pole will melt. However, it is not going to happen so fast but the sea level will continue to rise.
Another effect is the species loss of habitat. Species that include polar bears and tropical frogs will be extinct due to climate change. Besides, various birds will migrate to other places because animals are not like humans.
They cannot adopt the habitat that changes their living or temperature. The release of various toxic greenhouse gases into the atmosphere is increasing the atmospheric temperature as they have heat-trapping abilities.
